— Kara B., small-town librarian and closet baseball nut
“This book has claws. Heartwarming, hilarious, and shockingly profound. I stayed up way past my bedtime.”
— James R., cat dad of three former strays
“Patch deserves an award. Or at least a fish. Every cat in this book has more personality than most people I know.”
— Leo G., retired baseball coach
"I thought I was getting a cute story about cats. I didn’t know I was signing up for a midnight league, back-alley shenanigans, and a surprisingly deep exploration of loyalty. 10/10.”
— Amanda C., accidental fan of anthropomorphic sports fiction
L.M. ORSINI
Laura Orsini is a boundless creative with more ideas than time to bring them to life. She holds a creative writing degree with an emphasis in nonfiction from the University of Arizona, making this book a bit of a departure for her. She grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, dividing her baseball loyalties between the Yankees and the Dodgers. That didn’t stop her from striking out in her first Little League at-bat, unaware that a pitch could be called a strike even if she didn’t swing. It wasn’t until she started watching and attending games with boyfriends that she truly began to understand – and love – the sport.
An award-winning author, collage artist, teacher, speaker, and seeker of joy, Laura lives in the tiny town of Windsor, North Carolina, with her incredibly talented musician husband, Mickey Clement, along with Seamus the Dog, Isis the Cat, and Stevie, the stray cat who decided to adopt them.
